Helsbury Dog Photo Competition 2014 Entry 7

Steve and Jackie Gifford stayed in the Farmhouse last week and sent these brilliant shots: "We had a fantastic time at Helsbury Park, we stayed in the Farmhouse and were stunned by the quality of the accommodation. It is truly Five Star! We enjoyed it and our three dogs loved it. I have been on many holidays with the dogs and stayed in so called dog friendly cottages, but in fact they are not really dog friendly and you spend all your time trying to stop them from jumping on couches, coming upstairs etc. No worries here as all this was allowed. Dogs came upstairs and slept by the bed as normal and with the help of blankets provided laid with me on the sofa...fabulous relaxing holiday...we will be back!"

Late Availability Alert for Helsbury Park...

After a lovely bank holiday weekend and a dry and warm start to the Spring we thought we'd better let you know of a couple of weeks we still have available for the early part of the summer. We have Westhayes available on the 7th June and Marhayes on the 28th June.

Dog Days at Eden - 18 & 19 May

For two days only, Eden are allowing visitors to bring their dogs. It's the first time they've ever done this in the 12 years we've been open, so it will be treated as a pilot to see how things go! Please note: dogs must be kept on leads at all times and will not be allowed into the Biomes. 

If you're in the area why not drop in, the more support it gets the better chance there is that they may continue with it. Here's the details:

Helsbury Dog Photo Competition 2014 Entry 5

Despite winning this year's competition Neil and Trudy Rolls have already been back this year and sent some photos in for next year's competition. Neil said: "We had another fantastic stay at Helsbury Park, with the dogs having an absolute blast. They spent the entire holiday zooming round the enclosed fields, splashing through the river and exploring the woods. After we tired them out doing this and the many local walks, we got to relax in luxury enjoying the superb accommodation with the log burners going and a glass of something. We also made good use of the pool & gym, in the knowledge that the dogs were safe and tired out. From the pool we were able to watch Buzzards hunting all across the fantastic panoramic views. Many thanks for another great holiday."

And the Winner is...

We've had another wonderful set of entries to our annual dog photo competition and they were all of a very high standard. After receiving hundreds of votes we can can now announce the winner of the 2013 Dog Photo Competition, it is this stunning shot of Obi at Roughtor by Neil Rolls!


Neil said: "We are so delighted at winning the Dog photo competition.  We are all over the moon and can't wait to come back. Obi will get a big juicy steak as a reward. Thank you so much for giving all us "Dog Owners" such a fabulous place to holiday with our dogs.  We have holiday'd at Helsbury on several occasions now and every time we have a terrific stay and our dogs have enjoyed it even more, so much so, they usually sulk when we bring them home. We have stayed at several "luxury dog friendly" holiday cottages, but Helsbury has by far surpassed any other locations we have tried.  It is great to be able to go 5 star and holiday with our beloved dogs actually in with us. The facilities at Helsbury are so dog friendly and with little touches like dog bowls, treats and toys you make them feel welcome too. You and your team obviously work very hard to keep the facilities and accommodation in great condition and it is very much appreciated. Really looking forward to returning in the Autumn - big thank you!"

Gillian Flack and her friends took over Helsbury in March and sent us these great shots of her dogs: "Just returned home from another lovely week at Helsbury. A bit of a mixed bag of weather but that only added more dimensions to the holiday. I think I can safely speak for all that we had a great week and thoroughly enjoyed all that Helsbury Park had to offer!"
